Beginning of the INDUCTA AG story

from Adolf Bär to INDUCTA AG

The formative history

2017 – Move to the current company headquarter

2017 – Development of a second business sector with the move to the new building at the new location: Im Schoren 10, 3645 Gwatt.

The new building offers more space and meets the new requirements, which allow the development of a second business segment. As a second mainstay, the sector of contract manufacturing is created and further developed. The machinery was expanded in the new premises. This now makes it possible to manufacture our own parts for clockmaking technology and to offer external companies the entire value chain from engineering to the final product, including surface treatment.

2012 – Change of name

2012 – With the change of name to Wittwer-Bär Immobilien AG, the operative business is transferred to the subsidiary INDUCTA AG by means of a spin-off.

INDUCTA AG has achieved the position as the leading company for large clocks and advertising clocks worldwide through its technical knowledge and great flexibility for individual engineering.

1988 – Establishment Clock Factory

1988 – Establishment Clock Factory Wittwer-Bär AG, Thun / Gwatt.

1962 – Takeover of product line

1962 – The INDUCTA product line from Landis+Gyr is taken over by Tower Clock Factory (Turmuhrenfabrik).

From this point on, industrial and advertising clocks are produced under the INDUCTA brand. In the following years, the product line focuses more and more on large clocks and advertising clocks of all famous & well-known clock brands.

1924 – Establishment

1924 – Adolf Bär establishes the Tower Clock Factory (Turmuhrenfabrik) in Gwatt near Thun.

In the first years, mainly mechanical tower clocks for churches are designed and manufactured. With the development of the first electromechanical master clocks, the production of industrial clocks begins.
